I am in New Orleans, getting ready to lead a college break trip for the next week. My team arrives on Friday, but I flew down this morning to get acquainted with the area and the people we will be working with. After the hurricane hit in the fall, I felt like I was supposed to come down to New Orleans. I had plenty of opportunities, but none of them felt right. So- here I am several months later. God is good. And I am excited.
I got into New Orleans airport early this morning (I found out yesturday that I was flying)... without having a confirmed pickup. Life is crazy... and I love it!
Today I went around to a few different ministry sites with some AIM staff people that are here already leading another team. Some places look okay on the surface, but all around the devastation is overwhelming.
It is amazing to hear the stories of how God is providing here! I have only seen a glimpse, but I am excited to see and be a part of what He is going to do in the next ten (short) days.
Please pray for guidance as there are some details that are yet unsettled. Pray for safety as the team of 20 is traveling from Northwestern College on Thursday-Friday. Please pray for wisdom, boldness and humilty as I lead this team. I always get really nervous right before a team arrives. I think that a good place to be, but pray that it would be a holy fear overcome by His power, not a worldly fear based on my own human perspective.
